I’ll begin by saying this motherhood session was far from “perfect”. It was a bit chillier than we had hoped and being by the water made the air a bit more crisp. Eloise was a trooper though, while the wind swept her face she snuggled into her mom a little closer, held on a little tighter, and explored with her eyes wide open.
We spent, at most, twenty minutes together before Eloise told us she had had enough. During that time they hung out together discovering new places and treasures on the beach, not worrying too much about me (exactly how I like my sessions). This allows me to sneak into their lives capturing the real moments and interactions with less posing and pressure to be “perfect”.
So, if you’re holding off on hiring someone to photograph your family because you think you don’t have the best style, are worried your baby (or husband) won’t sit still, or your images won’t be “pinterest perfect”, I’m here to tell you to stop worrying and trust. No family is “perfect”, your clothes don’t define you, and the photos that tell a story aren’t forced. Hire a photographer you connect with and trust, they will capture what’s most important!
