moms homemade cinnamon applesauce

Homemade applesauce, one of the biggest hits on Thanksgiving! There’s just something extra tasty about homemade applesauce that makes it 10 times more delicious than the canned stuff. This recipe is extremely easy if you’re cooking a bunch of other dishes for a big meal.

What you’ll need:

  • 5-6 medium sized red apples
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 T. sugar
  • 1 t. cinnamon

Peel, core and chop your apples. Put the apples and water into a medium saucepan on medium-high heat. Once it boils, reduce to simmer and cook about 20 minutes until apples are soft enough to mash up.

Mash up the apples to your desired consistency. Add the sugar and cinnamon to taste and serve right away, or let sit and refrigerate and serve cold.
